In August 2021, Laura discovered a page on Instagram that was hosting a Frog-themed drawing prompt list. She loves a good prompt list! The creative drawing prompts can help any artist feel inspired and it is fun to see what other folks come up with for the same idea. Here are some of Laura Feller’s drawings for Frogust 2021:

Process Video for Dragonfruit Frog
Laura gets started by sketching a few ideas for the daily prompt. Once she creates a drawing that feels ready to jump off the page, it’s time to go digital. Laura uses her iPad Pro and the handy drawing application Procreate. After photographing or scanning the drawing, she will begin drawing the outlines. Once fully outlined, it is time to add color! If there are extra details, this is the step when she will add them. Applying a color scheme really brings out the detail but it’s the shading and highlighting that add depth.
