BubbleHouse Brews
BubbleHouse Brewing Company is creating some fun & amazing tasting beers in Lisle, Illinois. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time to stop by! The owners were looking for label artwork so they could start canning their delicious brews. I was absolutely thrilled when they asked me to design their can labels. What started as a request for 8 patterns has quickly grown to over 30! Jon keeps brewing amazing BubbleHouse beers and I will gladly keep making fun, colorful patterns to adorn the cans!
We initially met over tacos and craft beer to discuss the overall look BubbleHouse was looking for. Jon & April were looking for clean design, printing 3-4 colors with abstract, minimalist repeating patterns. We worked together to decide on the final layout, then I started working on patterns to fill it. I have come up with so many color schemes and designs! Scroll down to see what we’ve created so far.
In April 2022, Bubblehouse Brewing Company released their first 16-ounce cans featuring labels that I designed. Ponder the Yonder features digital photography/artwork by brewery manager, Jed Slaughter.
When BubbleHouse reaches out with the beers they need labels for, they give me some details about the beers. I might get a short description of what went into the beer, perhaps what style it is, I might get the name or even the story behind the name, or I might get TBD. When it comes to creating the repeating patterns for these beers, I often find my muse in the beer, name, or style to influence the colors and design. These little details help me to create my initial ideas!
